Wow! As each day goes by, I'm starting to get more fired up. Ideas of the solemnization starts to grow, piling up with each bridal blog/magazine I read. Every married friend I talked to, always have that one more sweet little suggestion as well.
And yet at the end of the day, whilst laying on the bed, I recollected all the ideas, kinda lined them up in my mind and filtered them.
Some seem plausible whilst others are way too extravagant for my tiny reception. Some are sweet little gestures which add that extra touch but at the same time, too OTT for my intimate guests.
I want a sweet little reception, L wants a simple one and we both do not want to overspend on this. : (
On a side note, my Tadashi gown has arrived! I bought if off Ebay, as the usual US websites I shopped from, does not carry the dress in my size anymore. When I messaged L earlier to inform him of the dress, he requested to see the dress as well. I was like no way! Which groom had seen their bride wearing the gown prior to the wedding? Oh wait, let me clarify. Since I had been occupying my "eng eng cheng cheng" self recently with bridal blogs (all from US), I realised that grooms do not get to see their brides in their wedding gowns before the wedding. But our local brides usually shop with their grooms for the photography and wedding attire package together, so both parties get to see each other in their finest. Thus I'm determined that L won't get to see me in my gown just like the 'ang mo" style. I'm hoping to give him a surprise when I walk into the restaurant on that day. *winks*
In case you people wanna know what kind of gown I got, all I could say it's lace. And one-shouldered. : ))
Ain't the stars pretty in their one shoulder dresses? My dress is long, different from the pictures. I just wanna show you guys a rough indication of what's lace and one shouldered. L don't get it. Hahaha
The dress in the bottom picture was by Valentino. I absolutely love the designer's dresses and gowns. How I wish I could afford them as well. (if only... sigh)
And also within the course of the last 3 days, since my previous post regarding my search for the flowers and the color theme for the reception, I had since resigned myself to the fact that I ain't ever gonna get camellia flowers at all. BLEAH
I had somehow convince myself (like 70%) to use calla lilies instead. However the thought of using bright cheerful daffodils still appeals to me. BFF had consoled me by saying a thousand and one (well... not exactly, more like two..) reasons for me to use calla lilies. Top of her list is practicality (cost effective more so than if I order the other two flowers in) and second is calla lilies are pretty. Period.
Well I guess I should settle for calla lilies for the time being. However there's still a reminder to myself that I need to make another trip down to the nurseries slightly before my wedding to see what is in bloom.
Wanted to get yellow heels too but somehow I could not bear to part with my money for something that I would only wear once (I know, I know, you guys are gonna remind me of my gown but, but it's soooo pretty!). Yellow heels are so not me but I'm sure they would bring a dash of color to my ivory gown. Plus it would be cute to have something different. Was thinking of getting yellow Havianas as well. They would come in handy if we are going to take photos after the reception. We could go off somewhere nice to take the bridal pictures and I could change into something more comfty and nothing beats comfort like a pair of Havianas! : ))
Decisions, decisions... woahh
Gonna put the Havianas idea back to my mind for awhile. Don't really need that though. I still have a pair of orange ones, brand new. Plus L had not found his yellow tie yet. Prioritize! :P
