Yellow fever

It's 40 days to the Day (dang dang dang!)
Over the weekend, me and L went searching for my ideal flowers to be used for the hand bouquet. We visited quite a few big nurseries and surprisingly, I didn't get to see the flowers I wanted. (for sure?!)
Was amazed and saddened when we enquired with the nurseries, most of them did not know what camellia flowers are. The nursery staff I spoke to could barely speak English well and since I do not know the direct translation of camellia to Mandarin so I did the best I could by googling images of the flower and showing to them direct. None of them has the flower. By the time I finished enquiring with the 3rd nursery, I was pretty convinced camellia does not exist in this part of the world or particularly Singapore. The sadness grew to disappointment and slight irritation as well. It seemed Wedding Gods were not in my favour. *tears*

Camellia

Then I changed the query to daffodils. NOPE! And then I learned daffodils are actually known as narcissus as well. And only one nursery has the narcissus. And I bought a bunch of narcissus flowers back to observe them, to visualise how I could make them to my personalised bouquet. My mum was kind enough to enquire with our neighbourhood florist and realised that daffodils actually bloom in Spring. The florist told her daffodils that daffodils are non-existent in March and proposed yellow roses to me. I made a barf face. I thought Spring begins from February onwards? By then, there should be a lot of blooming daffodils in March, no? And why is the florist giving me suggestions when she doesn't even know what I want? *turning into a Bridezalla prematurely*

Daffodils

All I want is yellow flowers and initially was looking at camellia, daffodils and lastly calla lilies. Camellia is definitely out unless I consider fake flowers. Daffodils are my second choice but unsure of the possibilities of their existence in March. Lastly is calla lilies which is like so blah.... : (
Calla

A friend suggested freesia and before I could say anything, she went on to say freesia is very expensive and also difficult to get (unsure of the seasons though). The last straw came, "you could copy me, I used freesia at my wedding," WTH, doesn't people know I could use inspiration but I would never copy items to items down to the same details?! I felt insulted when she said that. I merely replied that I was looking at yellow flowers to which she replied, "freesia comes in yellow as well. Yellow is better, I don't want you to copy me using white freesia" Excuse moi?! COPY?! Since when I said I wanted to use freesia?! Felt so irritated!!! Friends Gods are not helping me either. Arghhhhhh

Freesia

I know I'm behaving like a bitch but I really wanted something that's more to my likening. L and I chose the wedding date in a rush as we need to submit the papers for our housing application and other work restrains. In a nutshell, 17 March wasn't the date I really wanted to get married on. It means nothing to me except a date we'll get married on for the sake of the papers. Truth be told, I was hoping to get married on my birthday instead.

And L promised me since our wedding date has been compromised, I'll get allowances to develop the rest of the wedding according to what I want (within our budget though). I wanted a yellow theme coz it's the color of cheeriness. The color of sun and the sun symbolizes energy to me. (I've always wanted a sun tattoo) Coldplay's Yellow should be played in the background as we sit down for our reception lunch. And now L is saying I'm making a fuss over the flowers, everything should be toned down. Just make do with whatever we could get. This proved to be kinda heartbreaking. : ((
Where's the inspiration that I really wanted to work on?
