Where have I been for the past few days!!!!!
Less than a month and I had not been able to get everything in check.
*slight panic*
L has not even got his attire yet! L does not wants a suit (which I'm fine by that). L has no preferences, as long as he's comfty. Initially a tie seems to be the most "used" idea around but lately L has been toying with the notion of wearing a bowtie or suspenders. Those are crazy cool stuff and I had never expected L to come out and say he wanna wear those. He's not that kind of cool dapper style but anyway I absolutely love it! We started our search and been looking around for the items but ... We couldn't find any of those, especially in a sunshiney-yellow hue. Bleah... Feels so disappointed. Are Singaporean guys not adventurous in their dressing?
L is disappointed as well and thought of merely getting a tie in the end.
My belief is he's just as tired as me combing thru shopping malls and wasting our time. Poor baby.....
Remember my friend whom suggested I could copy her flowers idea? She has been kinda getting on my nerves. Much as I appreciate ideas and inspiration passed on to me, I do not like people telling me downright on what to use/do/buy/get/ and adding in the bomber sentence such as, "I used ......... at my wedding as well, you could copy/follow my example"
She suggested that I could use colored silk scarves as a tie for L (wow innovative! BUT I had wore scarves as ties as way before as 2005 back then!) Her hubby used a plain square purple scarf, folded to look like a tie and tucked underneath his blazer, back in their days. When I mentioned L is not wearing any suit nor blazer for our solemnization, she changed the idea to wearing the scarf and tying it the way just like a tie. That makes absolutely no sense to me! If I could get a plain colored bright yellow scarf, yeah her idea would work but ultimately a silk scarf costs more than a silk tie so why would I be looking out for a scarf in the first place?!
Then she commented on my makeup trial. I had green eyeshadow. It was merely an experiment and I admit I do not look good in green. Thus I'm still deciding to use some other colors that would compliment my dress and color theme. Friend judged me on my trial and went all round saying the green made me look like a slut?! WTF. I didn't know colors could give people a different personality. Then she kept insisting I use purple, blue and white/silver to highlight my eyes, only to add in her typical killer sentence. "I used those colors for my wedding, remember?!"
That really doesn't go well with me. I really felt uncomfortable with her nowadays. I'm the one getting married but why is she giving me her recycled ideas from her wedding? Much as I appreciate her tried and tested ways but I'm just not ready to be hearing, "oh so you are copying me and using .......... for your wedding as well?!"
I want my Day to be about me and L, how it goes down well with both our personalities but Friend is not really thinking of all these. She is merely giving me ideas that worked on her before and which might not work on me now. We are as different as chalk and cheese. And to think I used to look up to her as someone who truly knows me and appreciates my quirky other side. Sigh...
On a happier note, I'm gonna start my new job coming Monday. It's a different industry and I hope I can grasp all the technical jargon quick. :P
And I'm going away to Batam for a short trip this Friday. Can't wait to go for all the massages there! : ))
